Discovering Myself

I set a date.

Today!

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011.

Today, I start a blog. So many thoughts running through my head. For the past couple of months (Yeah, I've been bracing myself for impact for a minute, or two.) the most popular thoughts fears have been:  a) Nobody will ever read it. b) If anyone does read it, will they like it? c) What on earth will I write about?

That last one is easy, in a generic sense. This is a personal and hobby blog. It's about me, the world through my eyes. I also hope to share some of my creativity and kitchen adventures with you.

I've been lurking around blog land for a very short 9 months. A complete and total virgin to this world. Sure, when I was about 15, I thought it would be really cool to start up a personal blog. That lasted for all of a day. I made one horrible little post and never looked at it again. I don't think I ever even published it. Things have since changed. Now, 15 years later, I am a responsible an adult. I am still challenged in the writing department, but I am hoping to remedy that as I go.

My latest blogging dreams weren't my idea, at all.

Last December (I think), I stumbled upon a truly inspiring blog. Kathy, the amazing woman behind Alter Everything is battling chronic illness. Her words spoke to me. She pushed inspired me to start blogging. After writing back and forth, Kathy felt I should share myself with the world. I must say, she's a smart cookie. I should put myself out here.

It's time to venture out of my little box.

Despite my fears and lack of blogging knowledge, I am here. I've made it this far, and I'm looking forward to the challenges. One day, I aspire to become a somewhat successful blogger.
