Today was awesome! My husband, my mother in-law, my sister in-law, and myself spent the day at the beach.
We had a picnic lunch before walking down to the ocean.
Here are some pictures from the short walk to the beach.
 |
| The blue flag means it's safe for swimming, that funky looking sculpture thing is actually a lifeguard post. |
 |
| I'm not sure why, but I have an obsession with these thatched roofs. |
 |
| I'm really diggin' the yellow on this one. |
 |
| I love how this one is nestled in the hills. |
I tried to get Hans to buy me one of the summer houses, but for some reason he wasn't too keen on it. I'd build a
yurt and live 50 feet from the ocean, if I could.
 |
| My darling husband, Hans. (He's sort of like a giant.) |
 |
| Some pretty flowers that were hard to photograph because of the wind. |
 |
| Almost there! |
 |
| One of the many awesome WWII bunkers scattered along the beach. |
 |
| Making sure there was at least one picture of myself here. |
 |
| I had no idea you could successfully skip stones in the ocean, I just assumed the waves were too strong. |
 |
| Had to cheese it up a little bit! |
 |
| Storms starting to roll in as we were leaving. |
I ended up bringing several treasures (rocks) home. Not sure what I will do with them yet, but I'm sure it will be some sort of decorating project.
My loot:
I think I could literally spend a week or 2 down on the beach looking for treasures before I got tired of it.
What do you do at the beach?
Hey Girlie!!
ReplyDeleteI love you blog and read it everyday!!! Keep it coming!!!
BTW... Have you lost weight??? You look FABULOUS in that pic!
C
Yes ma'am I have, still have a lot to go, but I've lost about 30 pounds since the end of February. (That includes a trip back home for a month where I didn't eat so well)
ReplyDeleteMy kids love to go to the beach when we visit my parents. We don't often get to the beach in Texas. They love to skip rocks and run away from waves.
ReplyDeleteLaina I love your blog.I have just figured out how to send you a message. How did you get that branch on a concrete wall? I like your week-end project. I did not know you liked to do crafts & art work. I am very proud of you for doing this blog. love you Grandma
ReplyDeleteGrandma, it's not a concrete wall, but I do have brick walls in the kitchen and concrete in the bathroom. We just used a diamond bit on the drill and drilled the holes. That tree above the painting was my take on a Christmas tree. We hung it above the couch. (click here for picture)
ReplyDeleteEmily, where in Texas do you live? I know growing up in the panhandle, the only beaches we went to were at the lake,
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the daily adventures. Looks like fun. Just the smell of the ocean makes me smile. So proud of you. Keep writing!!! :)
